FUNDED SUPPORT ACROSS THE WEST MIDLANDS

Here at The Gateway Foundation we understand that addiction and offending are often intertwined with deeper personal challenges, and that recovery is a journey requiring both emotional resilience and practical support.

Our work is centered on the belief that everyone has the potential to lead a meaningful life. Through education, training, and access to employment services, we empower individuals to take control of their future and create lasting positive change for themselves and their communities.

Feel free to get in touch with us today, we will be more than happy to answer any queries you may have.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a community where individuals who have experienced addiction or mental health challenges can build emotional resilience, achieve independence, and live a fulfilling life.

We are committed to supporting individuals through collaborative, person-centered approaches that respect each person’s unique story and strengths. By fostering a culture of dignity, hope, and empowerment, we help people not only recover but thrive.

Guidance and Support

We guide people from addiction to meaningful employment, connecting them with essential networks, services, and communities that support their recovery and employment goals.

David Thorp - Trustee

My name is David Thorp, and I am a Trustee of The Gateway Foundation. I am a Project Manager by profession and have spent most of my working life in engineering, environmental management and assisting people with finding work after long-term unemployment of chaotic lifestyles, including addiction, mental illness and crime.

I have worked with employees and training providers to resell individuals who are aiming to improve their life chances and lead more productive lives. I have held positions from the shop floor to directorships, and this range of experience has helped me to understand the difficulties facing people when they try to turn their lives around or progress through careers. This skill set has led me to being a Trustee at The Gateway Foundation.

As a Christian, I am passionate about the work of The Gateway Foundation and its work to bring meaning to the lives of the people we serve.
